For One Sinaha and One Tamil Translator

Applications are called for the post of Sinhala / Tamil Translator. 

Type of Job:

Part time, for the duration of the project, In-person and Online.

General Job Description

Translation of project materials from English into Sinhala or Tamil. Translators will also have to be give live translations into sinhala and tamil during activities hosted online and in-person. 

Specific Activities to be carried out:

  •  Support the project team by translating material given in English into Sinhala or Tamil.
  • Being present at meetings, workshops, presentations and events to give live translations to the participants who are present.

Worktime Breakdown

The translator will devout eight full working days over a period of six months for the Female Religious Leaders for Dialog and Mediation (FREEDOM) which aims to empower female religious leaders for dialog and mediation in contemporary social crisis in Sri Lanka through advocacy, creating enabling environments, training, and networking. FREEDOM is a project funded by the Finn Church Aid/the network for religious and traditional peacemakers through funding from Ministry of Foreign affairs of Finland implemented by Reesilience Research, Training and Consulting. 

Qualifications required by the translator is:

  1. Advanced knowledge of the language; Sinhala or Tamil. 
  2. Excellent writing skills 
  3. Some experience in the translation and review process
  4. Attention to detail
  5. Able to work and communicate with female religious leaders 

Remuneration: 

Salary negotiable.

For Three Consultants for the

  1. Development of a policy brief and conducting an in-person policy communication
  2. Development and delivery of a three-day residential training of trainer (TOT) program and three days of community practicum on Dialogue and Mediation
  3. Delivery of a one-day hands-on in-person training for female religious leaders on the use of digital meeting platforms and social media for community en​​gagement,
  4. Mentoring and organising of a one-day online Dialogue and Mediation onboarding training
  5. Contributing to an in-person conference, on the role of female religious leaders in Dialogue and Mediation with the participation of beneficiaries of the program

Applications are called to carry out the above five activities for Female Religious Leaders for Dialog and Mediation (FREEDOM) Project with the objective of enhancing the dialog and mediation skills of female religious leaders during times of crisis. It is implemented by Resilience Research, Training, and Consulting Organisation.  It is a project supported by Finn Church Aid is a part of the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemaker’s Asia Working Group small grant programme and is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, through funding of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland-implemented by Resilience Research, Training and Consulting.

Applications are called for the post of Project Coordinator at Resilience Research, Training and Consulting.

Type of Job:

Full-time, Contractual for six months, In-person and Online

General Job Description

Assist the project manager in coordinating the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of projects implemented by Resilience Research, Training, and Consulting.

Specific Activities to be Carried out:

  • Support the project manager for the operation planning of the projects implemented by Resilience Research, Training, and Consulting.
  • Organize meetings and training both in person and virtual.
  • Coordinate with the project manager and resource persons involved in the project.
  • Support in project management activities, including financial management.
  • Assist the project manager in the development of project narratives and financial reports.
  • Support in the monitoring and evaluation activities of the projects and activities

Worktime breakdown:

The project coordinator will dedicate 50% of the time for the Female  Religious  Leaders
for Dialog and Mediation (FREEDOM), which aims to empower female religious leaders for dialog and mediation in contemporary social crises in Sri Lanka through advocacy, creating enabling environments, training, and networking. FREEDOM is a project funded by the Finn Church Aid/the network for religious and traditional peacemakers through funding from the ministry of foreign affairs of Finland implemented by resilience research, training, and consulting.

The balance of 50% of the time will be spent on other projects planned and implemented by Resilience Research, Training, and Consulting.

Qualifications for the Project Coordinator

  • Bachelor’s degree on Peace and Conflict Resolution/Peacebuilding, Social Work, Community Development or relevant field.
  • Experience working with community leaders such as religious leaders, faith groups, and government officials.
  • Experience in project management
